Je suis au service des Lavigne depuis trois ans. I've been working for the Lavignes for three years.
Il y a un peu plus de trois ans que je suis à leur service. I've been working for them for a little more than three years.
Je suis restée chez eux pendant six mois. I stayed at their place six months.
Elle est nommée à l'étranger pour deux ans. She is assigned abroad for two years.
Ils sont restés à Paris pendant cinq ans. They stayed in Paris for five years.
Nous rentrons aux Etats-Unis tous les deux ans. We go back to the United States every two years.
J'en reçois tous les deux jours. I get some every other day.
Ils ne sont pas partis pour toujours. They haven't left for good.
Ne faites pas deux choses en même temps. Don’t do two things at the same time.
Est-elle toujours à l'heure? Is she always on time?
Jusqu'ici, ils sont toujours arrivés à temps. Up to now, they've always arrived in time.
Je lui ai téléphoné trois fois. I've called him three times.
Amusez-vous bien! Have a good time!
A cette époque-là, nous les voyions souvent. At that time, we saw them often.
Avez-vous le temps de m'accompagner? Do you have time to accompany me?
Je n'ai pas ma montre. Avez-vous l'heure? I don't have my watch. Do you have the time?

En fait : usually in troduces a modification to a preceding statement.
En effet : indicates agreement with a preceding statement.
