De loin, ça n'a pas l'air mal, mais de près, c'est autre chose. From far away it doesn't look bad, but close by, it's something else.
D'en haut, on n'entendait presque rien. D'en bas, c’était parfait. From upstairs, one could hardly hear anything. From downstairs, it was perfect.
